Fuji Safari Park
A safari park on the southern slopes of Mt. Fuji at around 850 m above sea level, home to some 60 species and 900 animals. Drive your own car close to the big cats in the Safari Zone, then meet gentler animals on foot in the Interaction Zone.
Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway
About three minutes from the shore of Lake Kawaguchi up to Fujimidai station at 1,075 metres. A viewpoint in Tenjoyama Park with sweeping views of Mt. Fuji and the lake below.
Mt. Fuji World Heritage Centre, Shizuoka
A Shigeru Ban-designed centre famous for the upside-down Fuji mirrored in its reflecting pool. A spiral ramp 193 m long lets you experience a simulated climb of Mount Fuji.
Fujisan Hongū Sengen Taisha
The head shrine of the more than 1,300 Sengen shrines across Japan, and a component part of a World Cultural Heritage site, known for a main hall built by Tokugawa Ieyasu, the Special Natural Monument Wakutama-ike pond, and over 500 cherry trees.
Jōtōgamine Viewpoint
A wide lawn that doubles as a car park on the south side of the Taisekiji temple grounds. Mount Fuji stands directly ahead, spring brings a sea of Somei-Yoshino cherry blossom, and nothing costs a yen.
Shiraito Falls
A World Heritage waterfall where spring water from Mount Fuji spills like threads of silk down a cliff 150m wide, with the thundering Otodome Falls right beside it. About 30 to 40 minutes by car from our hotel.
Lake Tanuki
A lake with a 3.3 km shoreline on the Asagiri Highland at the western foot of Mt. Fuji. Famous among photographers for the inverted reflection of Mt. Fuji and for Diamond Fuji, it is also a fine spot for a lakeside walk or a cycle ride.
Men no Kanouya
Yakisoba / Gyoza / Ramen
Factory outlet of a noodle maker founded in 1948, producing the steamed noodles behind Fujinomiya yakisoba. Noodles, sauce, nikukasu and other ingredients are sold by the single serving (no dine-in).

A specialty coffee cafe a five-minute walk from JR Fujinomiya Station. Espresso and bagels made with milk from the nearby Asagiri Highlands, Shizuoka-grown tea and specialty beans from around the world are what it is known for.
